wonderplay

At wonderplay, children spend a fun morning or afternoon in a warm and engaging environment with their parent or other caregiver. Each 90-min class has a consistent structure and includes:

Wonderplay brings together a child’s natural inclination to play with a program designed to engage their curiosity and creativity. We believe that a safe and nurturing space encourages the development of language, imagination and self-esteem. This is truly a magical time in your child’s life when they embrace their world with a sense of wonder.

ABOUT CATHERINE

Catherine Lunardon is a local mother of two who, while working on a B.F.A from Queen’s University, led art tours and workshops for children at the Agnes Etherington Art Center in Kingston. She is also a graduate of New York’s Early Childhood Development Center’s zero-three child development program for mothers and their children. Shortly after returning to Toronto in 2007, her youngest son was diagnosed with a rare medical condition that kept him housebound: With her son unable to attend classes Catherine spent many hours playing and creating with him at home. The idea for wonderplay was born when, after her son’s recovery, they were unable to find a class they truly enjoyed. Recognizing a need in the community for a better playgroup, Catherine was inspired to start wonderplay.
